Sexy DJ tried to flee to China with her daughter in custody case: officials

A model dubbed “Asia’s sexiest DJ” was busted trying to flee to China with her 9-year-old daughter after a custody battle with her French hubby, according to court papers.

Agents nabbed Vietnamese-born Angie Vu at Kennedy Airport last week as she tried to board a flight with her tot, and she has been locked up ever since, papers state.

A Brooklyn federal judge cut the music on her bail bid last week even after she argued that going on the lam would be impossible for someone with her worldwide fame.

In addition to DJing and modeling gigs, Vu, 28, has appeared in Internet movies such as “Underwater Action Season 2” and had a cameo on “America’s Got Talent” this summer in which she exchanged a kiss with Nick Cannon, according to her YouTube channel.

But Brooklyn federal prosecutor Ryan Harris countered that the globetrotting vinyl vixen would be too high a flight risk and should be caged until her criminal case — based in France — is played out.

A French judge ruled in July that Vu’s husband, Richard Froger, would be awarded custody of the girl after a bitter dispute.

Court papers state that the child lived with Vu for the first five years of her life in Singapore, where much of Vu’s DJing and modeling fame was centered at the time.

But Froger began to take a more active role in her life in 2011 and the parents agreed to have her live with him in Paris in 2013, according to court documents.

She remained with him until this summer, when Froger decided to allow Vu to travel with the girl to New York as long as she returned her to him by Aug. 29, court papers state.

But Vu sent Froger an email the day before the scheduled hand-off and informed him that she would be staying in her native Vietnam with relatives for an entire year.

The Frenchman filed a complaint with his local authorities on Sept. 1 charging Vu with child abduction and a warrant was issued for her arrest on Oct. 9.

Flight records revealed that Vu flew from Saudi Arabia to the US with the child on Sept. 24.

After a two-week trip to Japan from Oct. 14 to Oct. 29, Vu returned to America and somehow ended up at the home of a friend referred to only as “Mr. Smocovich” in Massapequa Park on Long Island.

After tracking down her location, Froger obtained a Nassau County summons on Nov. 3 to get back custody of the child — but Vu’s roommate informed officials that she planned to split town.

Vu was busted at JFK the next day and the child was returned to her father.

French officials are now deciding whether to pursue abduction raps against the DJ and she will remain in custody until that decision is made.

Federal prosecutors warned that giving Vu bail and having her on the lam could complicate relations with traditional ally France.

“The fugitive’s release on bail would have negative implications for US foreign policy in cases where the United States seeks extradition of fugitives from France,” Harris wrote.
